The International Atomic Energy Agency has carried out the 25th rotation of its permanent monitoring mission at the Chornobyl NPP.
On 17 April 2024, a new group of specialists arrived at the Chornobyl NPP. The mission consists of international experts with high qualifications and experience in the field of nuclear energy.
Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency monitor safety performance of Ukrainian NPPs and analyse data on improving NPP safety, in particular under martial law.
The experts will work about three weeks to get acquainted with the current situation at the power plant. They will check the condition of equipment and systems and assess compliance with safety standards and regulations.
The IAEA monitoring missions at all Ukrainian NPPs are an important element of cooperation between Ukraine and the international community in the field of nuclear energy. The mission contributes to maintaining a high level of nuclear and radiation safety and security at NPPs.
