Over several days, works on mine detection were carried out at the Chornobyl NPP site. They were being done by servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine with the involvement of experts on radiochemical protection of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
As of 05 May 2022, these works have been completed.
“During the demining process, the Chornobyl NPP site, its external objects, life-support facilities and railway tracks were being surveyed and secured. After such a survey, the plant staff will be able to work safely at their workplaces and on site in general”, — said Oleksandr Pererva, Head of the ChNPP’s Physical Protection Service.
We remind you, that the Chornobyl NPP site had been occupied by the troops of the russian federation from 24 February till 31 March 2022. Staff and administration of the enterprise are still assessing the damage caused by the occupying army.
