On January 28, 2020, Chornobyl NPP obtained the certificate from the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate (hereinafter: SACI) on dry type Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility (hereinafter: ISF-2) construction completion.
The certificate is the basis for the contracts signing for supply of the commissioned facility with the necessary resources for its functioning: water, gas, heat, power, data incorporation about this facility into the state statistical reporting and registration of right of ownership of it, connection of the completed by construction facility being commissioned to the engineering networks.
Preparation for "hot" tests is currently underway at ISF-2 within which, in accordance with the program approved by the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (hereinafter: SNRIU), 186 Spent Fuel Assemblies (hereinafter referred to as SFA) will be transferred from the existing Spent Fuel Storage Facility №1 to ISF-2. After the necessary technological operations completion, SFAs will be placed in concrete storage modules at ISF-2.
Particular attention during ISF-2 hot test will be paid to the biological protection system of the facility.
"Hot" tests are scheduled to start in late February 2020

The Certificate of ChNPP ISF-2 facility Construction Completion was obtained from SACI in accordance with Article 39 of the Law of Ukraine “On Regulation of Urban Planning Activity”.
Commissioning of completed by construction facilities, referred to the facilities with significant consequences according to the class of consequences (responsibility) is carried out on the basis of the Deed of the Facility readiness for operation by issuing a certificate by the State Architectural and Construction regulatory Bodies according to the procedure established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
It is forbidden to operate completed by construction but not commissioned facilities.
