Last week, experts from the Belgian company Tecnubel delivered a second in-depth training course in practical use of multifunctional manipulators BROKK-180 at ChNPP industrial site.
This equipment is used in the Industrial Complex for Solid Radioactive Waste Management (hereinafter: ICSRM). This time, the training was delivered for the senior operational personnel of the Industrial Complex, in particular senior engineers and operational engineers.
BROKK-180 manipulator is used to Remove Solid Radioactive Waste. Auxiliary attachments can be fitted to it, including hydraulic hammer, concrete crusher, chain saws, hydraulic shears, bucket, etc. The multi-functionality of the manipulator makes it unexpendable in the Waste Management process. It makes it possible to remotely perform a number of different manipulations.
The training program is the author's development of the Tecnubel company and provides both theoretical part, as well as formation and training in practical skills for ICSRM staff. 80% of the program is funded by the Belgian Government, and another 20% by Tecnubel company.

The training is not limited only by BROKK-180. By the end of this year, Belgian specialists intend to deliver another one-week training course in "BROKK-330 maintenance: Base level". In addition, according to Tarik Bouayad, Project Manager from Tecnubel, Engineer for Robot Systems for Dismantling, by the end of 2019, the experts planned to deliver further two expert level training courses devoted to BROKK-330 manipulator repair.
"Then we will deal with Wälischmiller (Wälischmiller Engineering GmbH — ChNPP) equipment. This is hydraulic telescopic equipment. We have planned training courses in use of Wälischmiller equipment as well as in its maintenance.
The goal of the entire training process is to provide operators with the skills and knowledge in maintenance and remote control of BROKK-180, BROKK-330 and Wälischmiller manipulators to make them completely autonomous in terms of maintenance and remote control", said Tarik Bouayad.
