On 10 April, fire situation drills were held at the industrial site of the ChNPP, with the participation of employees of the enterprise and the fire and rescue unit 11-SFRG (State fire and rescue group).
The purpose of such fire situation drills is to establish and practice the actions of fire and rescue groups and personnel in extinguishing simulated fires at facilities, as well as to check the coordination of the work of persons responsible for evacuation, including the announcement of the evacuation command, opening of evacuation exits and organisation of the personnel.
According to the fire situation training plan, the simulated fire was caused by a personal computer on the 4th floor in one of the ChNPP premises. A large number of vehicles were used to localise and put out the fire, including several tankers, a ladder truck, a rescue vehicle, an operational and staff vehicle, etc. During the fire situation drills, the personnel practised accident response, evacuation and first aid to the victims.
Serhii Bahlai is a senior inspector for the control of technical maintenance of buildings (Fire safety group of the internal supervision department) said "The training was successful. The personnel interacted correctly. The rescuers saved the victim and provided him with the necessary assistance. Due to proper coordination and professional skills, the safety of everyone in the building was ensured."
